Kolkata: After winning the toss and batting once morest India in the second match of the ODI series, Sri Lanka suffered a batting collapse following a good start. Lanka, who were in a good position of 102-1 in the 17th over, were in a slump at 152-7 in the 28th over when they finally got the information. Dunit Vellalaghe and Chamika Karunaratne at the crease with five runs. Lanka was bowled by Kuldeep Yadav who took three wickets for India.
After winning the toss and entering the crease, Lankan openers Aavishka Fernando (20) and Nuanidu Fernando got off to a good start. Mohammad Siraj broke Lanka’s opening partnership by bowling Aavishka in the sixth over. But then the Indian pacers might not challenge the Lankan batsmen Nuanidu Fernando and Kushal Mendis.
Kuldeep Yadav trapped Kushal Mendis (34) in front of the wicket in his first over, when Nuwanidu and Kushal, who were in top gear, thought that they would lead Lanka to a good score by hitting Umran Malik for 14 runs in the first over. Then Dhananjaya D’Silva(0) became a golden duck and Aksar also arrived.

Nuwanidu was run out following completing his half-century, Kuldeep dropped Charit Asalanka (15), captain Dasun Shanaka (who scored a century in the last match)2) and Wanindu Hazaranka (21) was sent back by Umran Malik as Lanka slumped to 152-7. Kuldeep took three wickets for India while Axar, Siraj and Umran took one each.
