Dubai International Airport was quiet early Monday morning as the first flights arrived from Australia and Asia. Wearing mandatory face masks, passengers collected their suitcases and exited the huge terminal. The first Muslim call to prayer before dawn echoed across the terminal.

It is still unclear where Djokovic is traveling to. The Dubai Duty Free tennis tournament, which Djokovic won in 2020, doesn’t start until February 14.

In Dubai, the economic capital of the United Arab Emirates, travelers do not have to be vaccinated, but they must show a negative PCR test to board an aircraft.
