Lance Reddick, actor of the popular HBO series “The Wire”, passed away this Friday at the age of 60.
Reddick was also known for his role as Charon in the John Wick action-thriller film series.
The musician and actor passed away suddenly from natural causes on Friday at his Los Angeles home, his publicist, Mia Hansen, said in a statement.
The police went to the actor’s house around 09:30 local time (16:30 GMT).
“We will miss Lance so much,” his publicist said. “Please respect the privacy of his family at this time.”
Reddick was in full swing promotion press release for the fourth installment of the John Wick movieswhich stars Ana de Armas and whose premiere is scheduled for March 24.

Reddick, a native of Baltimore, participated in more than a dozen movies and series during his 25-year career like actor.
In John Wick he played the role of Charon, the concierge at the Continental Hotel, a clandestine center for New York crime.
He appeared in the original film and in its three sequels.
The actor was also known for his role as Cedric Daniels, a Baltimore police lieutenant, in “The Wire”, a cult series that aired from 2002 to 2008.
It examined the reality of narcotics in Baltimore from the perspective of law enforcement, as well as drug dealers and users.
Reddick told The Guardian in 2010 that he thought the series would be a “hit”, but did not anticipate it “would become this phenomenon”.
The actor participated in the Netflix series “Resident Evil” and in the science fiction and action film “Godzilla vs. Kong”.
Besides, he experienced how voice actor in the TV series “Rick and Morty”.
Reddick studied classical music at the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester in New York, where he received a BA before attending the Yale School of Drama.
Earned a SAG Award nomination in 2021 along with his co-stars for his role in the movie “One Night in Miami.”
Reddick told the Los Angeles Times in 2009 that he felt a “artist at heart”.
“When I went to drama school, I knew I was at least as talented as other students, but because I was a black man and not good looking, I knew I would have to work my butt off to be my best,” he said then.
His death comes two years following Reddick’s co-starMichael K Williams, who played Omar on “The Wire”, died of an overdose.
The actor was married to Stephanie, with whom he had two children: Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick.
