Media personality Lamis Al-Hadidi called for moving the exchange rate and reducing the value of the pound, to prevent the state of “distortion” that the Egyptian market is suffering from, noting that “this situation cannot continue or be corrected in any market in the world.”
She added during her presentation of the “Last Word” program, broadcast on “ON” satellite channel, on Sunday evening: “I hope you will work out the exchange rate and discount for us and we will finish, and we will still have a unified exchange rate. The state of distortion in the Egyptian market starts from sugar, through bread and cars, all the way to school fees and tickets.” Aviation”.
She reviewed the complaint of a female citizen raised on social media, who said that she was unable to book a flight ticket on EgyptAir by credit card. Because the bank told her that the reservation must be made using hard currency.
Al-Hadidi noted, “Egypt Air responded in an explanatory statement that issuing any ticket inside Egypt in the local currency and not in dollars, and confirmed that it is contacting customer service at the banks and this problem will be resolved.”
She continued: “There is a point to which EgyptAir did not respond, which is if a citizen of Egypt books a flight ticket for his son, father, or mother who are abroad, or if a conference worker invites visitors, he cannot send the ticket from Egypt and reserve it.”
She continued: “If my son who is there does not have money, then you prevent me from sending money to my son, and I do not know how to book him a ticket, and if he is a conference worker and invites people, you must agree with an overland tourism company and pay your heart’s blood and transfer them a dollar, and you prevent me from transferring a dollar, and we prefer to calculate the sum that has been paid.” to a state of distortion in the markets.”
