Barcelona won full points when they hosted Mallorca in La Liga, Saturday (9/3) early morning. Playing at home, Estadi olympic Lluis Companys, Xavi Hernandez’s team took a narrow lead with a score of 1-0. Young player Lamine Yamal was the only goal scorer.
Yamal admitted that he was happy to be able to help his team secure three points in the domestic league.
“Now we have to think about the Champions League. We will face one of the most important games of the season,” said Yamal after the match.
Yamal scored a beautiful goal in that match. He fired a shot from the right side and directed the ball into the top left corner of the opponent’s goal. Rajkovic couldn’t reach the ball and scored a goal.
It was Yamal’s sixth goal in all competitions in his first season with Barcelona.
Another player who performed well in that match was 17 year old central defender, Pau Cubrasi. He successfully attacked Barcelona’s defense until no goals were scored.
“Cubarsí is very intelligent. He knows when to step up to face a challenge or not. He hasn’t lost a single duel. Spectacular,” said Xavi Hernandez.
This victory means Barcelona is temporarily in second place with 61 points, two points ahead of Girona in third place. Meanwhile, the Blaugrana cut the gap to five points with leaders Real Madrid. (Z-11)
