Lamin and Artigeardit overthrew the forest valley

Because of course Artigeardit is the Danish rap scene’s answer to Viktor Akselsen this year, then his colleague Lamin is forward-looking, to such an extent that he stands to trump Noah Lyles in his palmares and attitude with the opening concert at Orange Stage earlier this summer at the zoo in Roskilde, as the culmination so far.

Still well-planned, after their joint debut album “nu hor vi er her”, a headlining gig in the Royal Arena earlier in the spring and a concert at the Nibe Festival, which was one of the festival’s best, it was on Friday evening in the skovdalen.

From the first beat, the two got the same hold on the North Jutland youth as energy drinks, Tik-Tok and chlamydia, because already from the opener “Selvfjøllelig” there was moshing and splashing in just the right way in front of the edge of the stage and the energy level had enough stamina to last the concert through . Which was admirable, since half didn’t have the birth number to go to the bar for anything but water.

Which said something about the form of the almost sold-out crowd, who during the warm-up set with Benny Jams had jumped to Olympic medals. Incidentally, it doesn’t take many years before Benny Jamz stops playing while it’s light and the audience is just starting to arrive. He will probably get his (headliner) place in the dark.

Although the same Afrobeat seemed to have stuck throughout the concert, there was no rhythmic variation.

The setlist was divided into several stages, first the duo took care of the joint, then Lamin took his place in the solo spotlight, to be replaced by Arti and finally they ended as they started.

Lamin as the more youthful crowd-pleaser of the two, where the crossover to the lucrative pop world can be seen on the horizon, and Arti as the more laid-back mysterious.

There were not many quiet moments for reflection or vulnerable confessions, of which there are otherwise enough on Artigeardit’s personal masterpiece “Long Live”.

However, we got the excellent “Lonely” as an exception.

No, it was bottles, ladies, bling and everything else euphoric that had been ordered at the bar, where “Window”, “Sent” and finally “Vågen” took the cones that they were destined to hit by a well-placed duo and band.

For one evening, the North Jutland youth were completely indifferent to the education race, the climate and handball. Fortunately for that.
