One beautiful Sunday morning, between the cuchaule and the screaming children, the voice of Lambert Wilson rang out on the telephone. A deep and calm voice, an assertive baritone tone in the man we know mainly for “his face” and his roles on the big screen. A filmography as long as a Wagner opera, alongside Claude Chabrol, André Téchiné, Alain Resnais, Mathieu Kassovitz. However, Lambert Wilson knows the song: he has not only always cultivated a passion for classical music and jazz, the hits of Yves Montant which he recorded on record, before dabbling in musical comedy like “Candide” by Berstein on the Châtelet stage. For several years, he has been perfecting his skills as a lyrical singer. The meeting was therefore made in Paris, in his apartment a stone’s throw from the Panthéon, to discuss these two concerts that he will give in Geneva and at the Haudères chapel.
Le Temps: You have sung a lot of musical comedies, in which we see the close and obvious link with the theater. Why did you want to sing Bach?
