Lambaré Basin: offers will be announced for health works that will benefit more than 3,000 compatriots

Asunción, IP Agency.- The offers from firms interested in designing and carrying out the construction of the future Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and sub-river outfall for the Lambaré basin, Central department, will be received this Friday, April 19, by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications.

The documents will be received starting at 9:00 a.m. at the MOPC Single Entry Desk, headquarters and later, at 9:30 a.m., the opening ceremony will take place on the third floor of the institution, in Oliva corner Alberdi of our capital.

This is “Prequalification 788 – Call MOPC No. 06/2024 – Prequalification for the contracting of design and construction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and subfluvial outfall, Lambaré basin, governed by the IDB Loan contract No. 5027/OC-PR”.

The Lambaré basin involves an investment of USD 165 million, coming from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Fund for the Promotion of Development (FONPRODE), together with the donation from the EU/LAIF, both managed by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID).

It will benefit more than 335,000 compatriots from Lambaré, Asunción and F. de la Mora

The works to be carried out in this basin will improve the quality of life of more than 335,000 people in the municipalities of Lambaré, Asunción and Fernando de la Mora, who will see a real transformation of their health conditions and the environment.

They will create hundreds of jobs

Through the project, hundreds of new direct and indirect jobs will also be generated before, during and following the execution of the works, highlights the MOPC.

The tasks include the construction of 22 km of main collectors; 16 km of delivery lines, 15 pumping stations, 877 km of secondary and tertiary collectors, plus the Lambaré Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP),

This treatment plant will have the capacity to process up to 2,226 liters of sewage per second, returning it clean through a subfluvial outfall to the main channel of the Paraguay River.
