Quarterback Lamar Jackson checked into the Baltimore Ravens facility on Monday and will attend the club’s mandatory mini-camp this week.
The star center had yet to take part in his team’s off-season activities in 2022, as he is currently seeking a contract extension.
“Hope you’re ready for the season, because I sure am,” Jackson said in a video posted to the Ravens’ Twitter account.
This season, the 25-year-old is set to play the fifth and final year of his rookie contract. The University of Louisville product doesn’t have an agent and negotiates with the Baltimore organization himself, which is pretty uncommon in the NFL.
Previously, Jackson has never shied away from saying he wanted to wear the Ravens colors for his entire career.
In his second season on the Goodell Tour in 2019, Jackson was selected as the league’s MVP. He had notably thrown 36 touchdown passes and rushed for more than 1,200 yards. The quarterback, however, was unable to repeat this type of feat in the two campaigns that followed.
In 12 games last year, Jackson had 2,882 yards and 16 touchdowns with his arm. He was also the victim of 13 interceptions.
