Lahori graduate to ‘convert’ petrol vehicles to electric

Like many countries around the world, the trend is to switch vehicles from petrol to electric Pakistan has also reached and many companies have their own in Pakistan Electric vehicles It has been announced to introduce.

According to the same trend Lahore Faisal Gujjar, a resident of Shahdara in the suburbs of Electric vehicles I am working to change.

Faisal Gujjar has successfully converted vehicles and motorcycles up to 1600 cc from petrol to electric systems.

According to Faisal, who passed his LLB following BSc: ‘As the price of petrol increases, there is a growing tendency among citizens to switch their vehicles and motorcycles to electric systems.’

Faisal Petrol vehicles and motorcycles are expertly converted to electric systems.

According to him, for this, the motor, batteries and other devices installed inside the vehicles and motorcycles are made to run by charging.

Like other countries of the world, the use of electric vehicles and motorcycles continues in Pakistan and for this purpose, various companies are selling electric and hybrid vehicles and motorcycles.

But like Faisal Gujjar, the transition to an electric system with an engine is not yet common in older cars and motorcycles.

Speaking to Independent Urdu, Faisal Gujjar said that ‘to electrify vehicles, a controller is installed which takes power from the battery and transfers it to the motor.

The higher the wattage of the motor that acts as the engine, the more powerful the vehicle. The more amperes the battery bank has, the more the average per kilometer will increase.

He said that the vehicle can run for 100 to 500 km once the battery is charged.

‘But it depends on the battery, the more ampere the battery the longer the distance. While the speed depends on the motor, the higher the wattage of the motor, the higher the speed.

According to Faisal, the batteries currently in use in Pakistan are made of lithium-ion and lithium iron phosphate because they are advanced. technology Because of their light weight, they have the ability to deliver more current in a smaller volume.

According to Faisal: ‘We enable vehicles and motorcycles not only to run on hybrids, i.e. petrol and batteries, but also to remove the engine and transfer it to electric only.

“Though batteries or motors etc add weight to the vehicle, it is set up in such a way that no problem arises.”

According to him: ‘For three years we have been doing this work and the cars and bikes are running successfully. We have also designed a small scale self-designed small vehicle that runs solely on electric systems. It is a vehicle smaller than a two-seater rickshaw that has been experimentally built.’

He said that there is also a way to charge vehicle batteries through modern solar panels. We have also tested a vehicle by installing solar panels to drive the battery up to 800 km from continuous charging.’

Faisal says, ‘I did not become a mechanic by learning work in a traditional way, but following getting education I used to do business. It was thought that why not test electric vehicles and motorcycles. So got aware of the videos on social media and consulted the relevant mechanics.

Then the goods that were available here were bought and those that were not available here were ordered from China. Thus the experiment was successful and many vehicles and motorcycles have now been converted to electric systems.

Faisal said that ‘Battery charging timing depends on the charger, the better the charger, the less time the battery is charged, minimum thirty minutes and maximum four hours charging time.

As far as the prices are concerned, a small car running on electricity for 120 kilometers costs 4.5 lakhs, while large vehicles that run 4 or 500 kilometers on a single charge cost 10 to 12 lakhs.

The minimum speed of the vehicle is up to 100 kmph. In the same way, the motorcycle is prepared up to 1 lakh 35 thousand, which covers a speed of 80, 90 kilometers and the same distance in one charging.

According to him, ‘the motor fits in the back wheel of the motorcycle while the battery fits under the seat while the charger and controller are also adjusted with the tank.’

He claimed that these vehicles are cheaper and better than new electric vehicles. Citizens fed up with rising petrol prices are shifting towards eco-friendly electric vehicles and motorcycles.

But there is no law in this regard at the government level, nor is there any support. Nor are charging stations fully present in cities. People charge their own car or motorcycle batteries with chargers.’

Many cities in Pakistan, including Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi, have a number of charging stations, but not as common as the large number of petrol pumps.

The government had awarded the contract for construction of charging stations on the motorways in the past years, but till now fully electric charging stations do not appear as per the requirement.

Recently, the Punjab government has also announced to distribute 20 thousand electric motorcycles among the female students of Punjab in a phased manner, but the electric vehicle policy might not be fully implemented across the country.
