Assigned in the American League on SundayShane Wright didn’t wait too long to score his first professional goal.
In his first game with the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the AHL, Wright found the back of the net by beating Dustin Wolf in the upper end on a breakaway Tuesday night past the Calgary Wranglers.
The duel ultimately ended in a 5-3 win for the Wranglers.
Wright finished the night with a goal, a shot on net and a -1 differential.
Fourth selection in the last draft, he has taken part in only 7 of the Kraken’s 18 games this season, amassing one assist.
Quebecer Jakob Pelletier had a goal and an assist for the Wranglers. The 21-year-old forward was a 2019 Flames first-round pick.
