Thursday, May 18, the weather was almost like spring in Laguiole for the fair-exhibition proposed by the “Laguiole expo” association and the Aubrac-Laguiole tourist office. Nearly 200 exhibitors set up early in the morning. Place dubull, there were car dealerships, several tool stands, as well as a carousel for children.
Alley of the friendly the public discovered the stands of greengrocers, ready-to-wear, crockery and household linen. Going down towards the place d’oie, the stalls of the schools offered aligot and homemade pies; the town hall square was bursting with color with the flower seedlings ready to plant in the garden. Rue de la Violette, the music dominated with a large stand selling CDs, where everyone could find their favorite melodies, leather goods, work clothes, hats of all shapes and colors.
The terraces of the brasseries were full; walkers with their arms full took a break there before continuing their circuit in the lively streets of the village.
Taking advantage of the Ascension Bridge, many holidaymakers were present and were delighted with this large, friendly market.
At the end of the day, the merchants were packing up, some more satisfied than others, but overall business was good.
