The organizers of the Olympic Games in Paris made sure that the opening ceremony would take your breath away, and the multitude of performances and other attractions would overwhelm fans and tourists. The capital of France is hosting the most important sporting event of the 4-year period for the third time.

For the first time in the history of the Summer Olympics, the ceremony did not take place in a stadium. Its participants moved on boats along the Seine, admiring the most beautiful areas of the majestic city. The culmination of the route was the Jardins du Trocadero, right next to the famous Eiffel Tower.

Among the athletes present at the ceremony, there was of course no shortage of Poles. The Polish national volleyball players did not attend, as they decided to devote this time to regeneration and proper preparation for the match with Egypt. Poland was represented by Anita Włodarczyk and Przemysław Zawojski as standard-bearers. The ceremony was graced at the beginning with a performance by Lady Gaga. To say that the singer of Italian roots delighted is like saying nothing.

Lady Gaga put on a great show on the Seine, and the audience’s attention was primarily drawn to her styling and the exceptional choreography of the dancers involved in the show. The 38-year-old performed in a tight, black costume, although at first she was covered by large pink fans stylized as bird feathers. The audience was “pleasantly flattered” by the fact that the singer performed the songs in French.

The singer’s short but quite intense performance put the fans gathered in the stands in a great mood. The cheerful repertoire also appealed to the commentators of the opening ceremony of the games.
