Lady Diana’s niece, Lady Amelia Spencer, married her old companion, Greg Mallet, in a very special ceremony in South Africa, following an official engagement since 2020, when the couple said “yes” in Quoin Rock Manor HouseWinery in Stellenbosch.
For the occasion, Amelia Spencer chose an elegant, off-the-shoulder platform wedding dress by Versace, rich in nods to her deceased aunt. It is a tribute to the late princess; Lady Diana was a close friend of Gianni Versace and an enthusiast of the brand. “I think she would be very proud to see me on my wedding day,” said Amelia Spencer, who was five when the princess died. “I know the Versace family adored Diana, so we have a very special bond.”

Designed for Amelia specifically, this dress features hand-crafted floral motifs, embroidered silk lace, and a two-and-a-half-meter train embellished with Swarovski crystals. It also features a hand-embroidered collar and hemmed shoulders. The bride wore an elegant five-meter veil made of luxurious silk tulle, and wore Jimmy Choo shoes. “I am the happiest girl in the world,” said the bride. Honestly, this is the most beautiful dress I’ve ever seen. Working with a fashion house like Versace is a dream. Every member of the team was an angel.”
If Charles Spencer, the princess’s younger brother and father of the bride, mightn’t attend the event, her twin sister Lady Eliza was there, just as their 32-year-old older sister Lady Kitty was. Their half-brother, Samuel Aitken, 19, and their mother, Victoria Lockwood, also attended the ceremony.
