Many people complained on the networks regarding the lack of ballots for non-traditional parties. The recent investigation by La Nación on the negotiation of the printing of electoral ballots for more than 20 billion pesos is impressive. Up to 1000 million per game in the PASO. How to avoid this waste, its environmental impact, and end the trap of lack of tickets? On top of that, they steal or tear up opposition ballots, or don’t send them to the tables. Solution?
An electoral law is needed so that in each dark room there is a single list of parties, positions and candidates, and that the voter writes in print the names of his favorites in a ballot with blank boxes (or has them written down or printed to save time and avoid queues).
It is not unreasonable: in the last elections in Italy the name of the candidate had to be written down (note: due to fraud, voting by mail is not ideal).
If the legislators maintain the ballot sheets and the machines (Salta case, USA, Brazil) it is because they continue with the trap and the negotiated.
Of course, it is important to maintain the STEP because they allow the genuine vote, instead of the vote for the one with the best chance so that the worst does not win. In addition, they facilitate the emergence of innovative parties.
