Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security (MTESS) has established a period of 90 working days for the regularization, without fines, of the registration in the Employer-Worker Registry of the main establishments and branches, and the communications of entry and exit of workers.
Likewise, permits, vacations, reprimands, absences, warnings, suspensions, notice, work accidents, risks and occupational diseases must be communicated, in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 1989/2024.
The regularization will be valid until October 31 of this year.
However, the resolution clarifies that labour breaches detected through inspections and audits will continue to be sanctioned in accordance with current regulations and will not be exempt from penalties.
This campaign is part of a series of measures adopted by the Government to reduce informal employment and improve social security, thereby ensuring compliance with labour regulations.
The MTESS, together with other institutions, seeks to encourage employers to register their establishments and workers in social security and in the Employer-Worker Registry. In this way, it is hoped to improve working conditions and facilitate legal compliance by automating and simplifying processes.
Informal employment in Paraguay remains a significant challenge. This implies a lack of access to employment benefits and social security, affecting the sustainability of the social security system.
Formalizing employment brings with it numerous benefits for both workers and employers and society in general. Workers gain access to social security, protection of their labor rights, and greater opportunities for professional growth and promotion.
Employers, for their part, can improve productivity in a healthy work environment, access sources of financing with competitive rates, and participate in public tenders and contracts.
For society in general, formalization contributes to the reduction of the informal economy and tax evasion, improving income distribution and increasing consumption.
