Peruvian youth are in search of a college career that allows them to get a good job when they graduate and with a good salary that allows them to have a good quality of life.
In this sense, Gustavo Kato, UPN vice-rector, points out that in recent years in Peru there has been a high tendency of young people to choose academic programs related to engineering and technology, law and psychology.

According to a study of the portal Get on the runcarried out on young graduates between 2017 and 2019, indicates that the best-paid academic programs are:

- Statistics with an average income of S/ 3,403
- Medicine with an average income of S/ 3,107
- Systems Engineering and Computing with an average income of S/ 2,876
- Programs related to Administration with an average income of S/ 2,781
- agribusiness with an average income of S/ 2,716
Is it more profitable to study a technical or university degree?
Gustavo Kato points out that using the information indicated by the Ponte en Carrera portal, and considering the maximum and minimum amounts that can be obtained in the indicated salaries, the best option is to study a professional career.
“There is no doubt that a university degree is more profitable in the long term. Not only because the initial remuneration is usually higher, but also because university studies allow you to later carry out postgraduate studies to obtain better job positions”need.
On the other hand, it indicates that among the academic programs that are less remunerated and for that reason are less in demand are education, art, veterinary, theology and philosophy programs.
