Assets work more than in 2010
In 2019, the Swiss worked around 1.5 days more per year. Women aged 15 to 64 have clearly contributed to the evolution.

Workers in Switzerland worked around 1.5 days more per year in 2019 than ten years earlier. It is above all women entering the labor market who have contributed to this development.
According to figures from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO), the annual working time per person of working age increased from 1,275 to 1,287 hours between 2010 and 2019, which corresponds to an increase of around 1.5 working day per person, according to an assessment of the OFS carried out at the request of the CH-Media newspapers and of which the Keystone-ATS press agency became aware on Friday.
It is above all women aged 15 to 64 who are responsible for this increase in annual working time: in 2019, they worked around 7% or 8 working days more per person than ten years earlier, i.e. 1026 hours. Among men, the annual working time decreased by about 3% during the same period to reach 1544 hours.
