Laayoune airport welcomed more than 206,000 passengers in 2022

Hassan 1st airport in Laâyoune welcomed 206,458 passengers during the previous year, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).

This volume represents a recovery rate of 81% compared to the same period of 2019, during which 255,640 travelers were welcomed by this airport, specifies ONDA in its latest report on commercial air traffic.

For the month of December alone, this airport platform recorded a recovery rate of 90% with 20,334 passengers welcomed, once morest 22,532 travelers during the same period of 2019, the Office said.

In addition, ONDA notes that the airports of the Kingdom welcomed 20,592,350 passengers, i.e. a growth rate of 82% compared to the same period in 2019.

ONDA notes that domestic air traffic, with 2,155,942 passengers welcomed in 2022, posted a recovery rate of 72% compared to the same period of 2019.

In addition, international air traffic, which represents 90% of global traffic, recorded 18,436,408 passengers in 2022, representing a recovery rate of 84% compared to the same period of 2019.

Air freight recorded a total of 69,751 tons in 2022 once morest 96,121 tons, representing a recovery rate of 73% compared to the same period of 2019.
