The Quebecer La Zarra thought of propelling her career in Europe by representing France in the popular Eurovision contest. But the failure of her participation – she finished in 16th place in the final – and her middle finger on camera seem to cause her a lot of worries. The Parisian reports that the singer has even been forced to postpone several concerts because there are not enough tickets sold.
It was to be a successful first tour for La Zarra, a few days following his appearance at the grand final of Eurovision. But the reality is quite different.
According The Parisianthe first two dates of the European tour of Fatima-Zahra Hafdi, of her real name, scheduled for June 2 (Marseille) and June 8 (Lille) have been postponed to December.
The singer’s tour team reportedly said in a statement that the postponements were due to “technical reasons for the preparation of the tour”. But according to reliable sources of the Parisian, “this false start is in fact due to too little filling of the rooms”.
It was on March 9, a few weeks following the announcement of La Zarra as the official representative of France at Eurovision, that 24 dates of a new European tour, to start in June, had been put on sale.
The Parisian mentions that the next date scheduled on the calendar, June 15 at the Salle Pleyel, in Paris, still stands. The theater, with a capacity of more than 2,000 seats, is however currently only two-thirds full and promotions “at less than 30% on certain tickets have been put in place”.
Expensive middle finger
La Zarra has also canceled its July 23 participation in the Greenland festival, near Perpignan, in the South of France. The festival organizers publicly mentioned that the cancellation was due to “reasons beyond our control”. Le Parisien reports rather than according to his information, “it was the team of this eco-responsible musical event who decided to deprogram the singer following her anti-sport and outrageous behavior during the Eurovision final on May 13 in Liverpool. “.
Remember that when the results of the final were announced, La Zarra gave the camera the middle finger, which raised the ire of several viewers. Even if she had later explained that her gesture was one of disappointment and not of contempt, the damage was already done.
In the days that followed, most French radio stations stopped playing his song. Obviously on the air.
“Since that disastrous evening, La Zarra has not given any interviews and has published nothing on social networks, except for new stories on Instagram where she sometimes settles her accounts”, writes The Parisian.
