La Tri was superior and beat Guatemala: debut with a goal from Yeboah and ideal return from Plata :: Olé Ecuador

Félix Sánchez Bas: from the victory once morest Guatemala to the performance of the debutants

The La Tri coach spoke at a press conference following the victory: “We thought it was a good day to try and give minutes. Happy with the performance of the players. Today three made their debut in the national team. Happy with the performance of the boys “Today three players debuted, it’s not easy, but I think they performed well. In general the team has delivered, a lot of attitude and good play at times.”

Regarding Gonzalo Plata and Jeremy Sarmiento, who returned to La Tri, Sánchez Bas said: “They both played at a very good level, Gonzalo had the goal award. They are players who can be differential, they did well today. He is the way forward.”

John Yeboah, Joel Ordóñez and Alan Minda made their debut in La Tri: “Very happy for the three of them, because starting at the start is not easy. They have been very focused. The center back position is a lot of responsibility. Robert has been with them so they can feel supported, it has worked well. It is important to give the boys this opportunity. John has played a good game, he has tried to be unbalanced. Scoring a goal in the first game is a dream, it will surely give him more energy for the next ones matches”.

Regarding Allen Obando’s call, the coach explained: “Evidently, in the National Team there is a group that is consolidated because they qualified for a World Cup, and despite being young they have a long way to go. There are players who are coming in, in Allen’s case he plays in a position in which we needed to bring in a boy. He is not playing, obviously we like players to come in competition, but a player with an interesting profile. We have seen him play basically in the youth teams, and we liked what we have seen, he is “a player with potential. Being on a FIFA date was an opportunity to see him live. Hopefully he can earn a place in his club, he has to work hard and earn it.”
