“A child’s gaze can express everything: curiosity, joy, tenderness, excitement. It can also express fear, sadness and pain, loneliness and the absence of love. If humanity acted with the gaze of a child, the world would certainly be a much better place.” This is the invitation that the illustrator, painter and sculptor Carme Solé Vendrell, born and raised in Horta in 1944, made in the proclamation of the Mercè 2024 that she gave this Friday afternoon.
