La Laiterie: A Charming Estaminet & Delightful Dining Experience in Linkebeek

2023-09-23 12:04:00

La Laiterie is located in the town of Linkebeek, a stone’s throw from Brussels. The establishment was completely renovated a few years ago by Julien Goldé, who, according to him, “got into the hospitality industry when he was little”. In fact, he learned the trade in beautiful houses in Belgium and France. He has worked through all functions, from the bottom of the ladder, from the dining room to the kitchen, which gives him real knowledge of the work of each of his colleagues. When the current brand was offered to him for takeover, he embarked on the adventure with his father. And the result is worth it.

The estaminet…

First there is the setting: an old house, to which many changes have been made through major work. But the emphasis was placed on the quality of the cuisine: fresh products, prepared on site, a Chef who is both classic while bringing a touch of modernity to his typical brasserie cuisine. The dressings, for example, are worked and cared for… The very close relationship between Chef Patrick and his team explains that the quality of the table never disappoints.

The front room emphasizes the estaminet spirit. From 11:30 a.m., you can have a good beer, a coffee, an aperitif, a small savory or sweet bistro dish, a coffee break or an followingnoon snack… In summer, the terrace extends its arms to the walker as usual.

The children’s corner…

A warm decoration like the welcome, a cuisine with roots anchored in the region (without forgetting vegetarians), generous and perfectly mastered, there is something for everyone.

Let’s mention among the starters the grilled marrow bone and toast (15 euros 50), which always has its fans or the perfect egg at 16 euros 50. In the fish section, we find the sea bass fillet, watercress butter, vegetables from season, mashed potatoes (31 euros) or cod fillet, mousseline sauce, seasonal vegetables, natural potatoes (30 euros). For meat lovers, the pure Irish beef fillet, fries, salad, sauce of your choice is offered at 37 euros 50. The classic beef tartare prepared in the dining room or by yourself is priced at 21 euros and 22 euros 50 in its Thai or Italian variants.

But, there is also a Sunday signature: roast chicken, applesauce, fries, salad (19 euros 50)… A real moment of conviviality with the family! It’s a must and it’s best to reserve.

Another asset deserves to be noted: the Mibrasa oven, ensuring cooking on vegetable embers, which allows the meats to retain their full flavors. It’s worth testing… because we’re coming back to it.

The slate of suggestions changes according to the market and regularly. The children are not forgotten. A beautiful equipped space is reserved for them and they will play there while you have dinner or lunch among yourselves.
