La Jornada – Registers Ssa 34 thousand 95 infections and 134 deaths from covid in 24 hours

Mexico City. The Ministry of Health (Ssa) reported this followingnoon that today Tuesday 34 thousand 95 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the country, for a total of 6 million 488 thousand 358. As for the registered deaths, there were 134, with which a cumulative of 326 thousand 657 have occurred in Mexico.

In the Daily Technical Report, it was broken down that, at the cutoff of information for this day, there are 222,963 registered, estimated active cases, that is, those that have transmission capacity. The incidence rate between July 6 to 19, 2022, is 164.2 per 100 thousand inhabitants.

Regarding hospital occupancy, the agency announced that in general beds it remains with an occupancy of 18 percent and that of beds with mechanical ventilators, that is, those that are intended for patients in critical health conditions, did not have either variance, and it’s at 5 percent.

He also detailed that in epidemiological week number 28, which ran from July 10 to 16, an average of 18,050 infections were reported per day.

The states with the most active cases per 100,000 inhabitants (by residence) are Mexico City, Colima, Querétaro, Baja California Sur and San Luis Potosí, among others.

The agency explained that, in the accumulated number of deaths, 62 percent correspond to men and the median age of deaths is 64 years.

The Ssa ordered to continue with preventive health measures, including the correct use of face masks, frequent hand washing, ventilation of closed spaces and not shaking hands, hugging or kissing. People with comorbidities, including: diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and respiratory and heart diseases, should be more careful to avoid contracting the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and preferably stay safe at home.
