The RKT singer stopped by Andy Kusnetzoff’s show and revealed why she didn’t like going to class and what happened to her when a fan exposed lies regarding her on television.
Since she rose to fame, many very sad anecdotes from La Joaqui’s life have become known. Last night, the artist recounted two of the things that most marked her past: the bullying she received at school, added to the absence of her mother, and the time she was canceled due to fake news.
“My mom was always a super hippie and surfer. I grew up in Tamarindo, Costa Rica, when it was all jungle. If I wanted to go to the movies one day, I had to get someone to drive me six hours to San José. I was there until I was 15 or 16 years old,” said the artist.
Joaqui did not have a strong relationship with her father and, since her mother worked a lot, she was alone a lot and had to wash her uniform to go to school. “My classmates didn’t understand it and told me ‘here comes the dirty girl!’ Imagine, at eight years old, how you wash your school shirt… she got the lice out of me as best she might,” she exclaimed.
As a result of this mistreatment, the singer became very angry, fought with her classmates and did not attend classes. “Maybe you want to go to school, but you say: ‘Why should I go if they tell me this?’ She turns a blind eye to these situations. For many schools I was a rebel who didn’t want to go to class,” she said.

And then he added: “He said it as a joke and I was at home with a panic attack, crying and thinking how I support my daughters now. I was nice to a lot of people and I didn’t see anyone saying ‘hey crazy, it’s a lie’. “I felt unfairly threatened.”
In the end, following hundreds of abusive and hateful comments, La Joaqui took refuge in Karol G’s songs and suddenly the Colombian singer dedicated an Instagram story to her that filled her with happiness. “I was two hours away from going out to hand out my resume on the street. And there I said: ‘this is my prize’. Things have gotten better since then,” she concluded happily.
