The LA Brea on Josefstrasse has been serving brunch just like in Los Angeles since November. In the trendy food hangout with a Californian-Mexican touch, a colorful mix of people meets for Huevos rangeros, tacos, churros and buttomless mimosa and lets themselves be sprinkled with dull hip hop beats.
Every table is occupied, a well-frequented children’s corner with toys (which is only available on Sundays) and muffled hip-hop beats from the loudspeakers. The place is vibrant. Since mid-November, brunch has also been served on Sundays at LA Brea.
There are almost 23 positions to choose from. Most come from typical Californian-Mexican cuisine. These include, for example, huevos rancheros, burrito, chilaquiles, quesadillas or tacos. In addition, they also serve classic brunch dishes such as granola bowls or avocado toasts.
Fans of boozy brunches will also get their money’s worth at LA Brea: the Mimosa (Prosecco with orange juice) is available buttomless!

Harry’s tip
The good mood at LA Brea is contagious! The simple dishes convince. The buttomless Mimosa makes you happy. What more do we want?
And which of all did we particularly like? Definitely the tacos with the bacon strips. They were unexpectedly delicious. Likewise the fried chicken wings served with sweet churros. A surprising combination.
But the highlight was, without a doubt, the good Sunday atmosphere and the child-friendliness. Exactly as we had hoped.
