It is a friendly and warm place. In Redon, La Bicoque and its cultural café welcome adults with psychological disorders. They find themselves there to gain confidence and autonomy.
Three years ago, La Bicoque opened its cultural café in a former gendarmerie in the town center of Redon, in Ille-et-Vilaine. A place steeped in history, reinvested in mutual aid, listening and sharing.
At the Bicoque caféyou can drink cold drinks from local producers, tea or coffee to satisfy your thirst for meeting people and humanity.
The Bicoque association is a Mutual Support Group (GEM) which responds to a need for support in the daily life of adults affected by a mental health problem.
So that everyone can take ownership of their health problems, the Bicoque café is run only by those affected by mental health issues. A way to gain autonomy.

Marie-Gabrielle discovered the GEM in Redon two years ago, as part of the information week on mental health, the SISM.
She then joined La Bicoque and its cultural café and participated in writing and painting workshops.
When I was young, I finished a novel, which ended up in a book burning, but at La Bicoque, I repeated my class! …and the story never ends!

In addition to exhibitions, concerts, reading workshops, hikes, members also organize a canteen open to all. It is the 3rd Thursday of each month.
In collaboration with the network “Solidarity gleaning “from the region of Redon, vegetables “gleaned” from local farmers are collected and simmered. A way of creating links.

Behind the Bicoque bar, Fabienne and Francesco take the pleasure of serving coffee. Fabienne, discreet by nature, likes to feel useful. It’s a way to regain self-confidence.
When I serve coffee, I feel protected while being of service and listening to others.
For Francesco, with an apron on his body and humor on his lips, La Bicoque and its cultural café are his great escape…
