Kyung Hee University Hospital Neurology Professor Woo Ho-geol won the ‘Best Poster Award’ at the World Neurological Association 2023 International Symposium.

Kyung Hee University Hospital announced that Professor Woo Ho-geol of the Department of Neurology won the Best Poster Award at the International Symposium of the World Society of Neurology.

Kyung Hee University Hospital announced that Professor Woo Ho-geol of the Department of Neurology won the ‘Best Poster Award’ at the ‘World Congress of Neurology (WCN) 2023 International Symposium’.

Professor Ho-Geol Woo was recognized for excellence for his paper, ‘Depression and Suicidal Tendency in Korean Adolescents from 2015 to 2021, and Risk Factors Related to the COVID-19 Pandemic.’ The paper was also published in the online edition of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA Network Open, IF 13.353), a world-renowned academic journal.

Professor Woo Ho-geol said, “I am very happy to present the research results at a symposium attended by neuroscience experts from around the world and even receive an award,” and added, “Through this study, we can confirm that depression and suicidal tendencies in adolescents have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. “There was,” he said. He continued, “In the future, we will do our best to obtain meaningful results by conducting additional research on adolescent depression following returning to daily life before COVID-19.”

Meanwhile, the World Neuroscience Association International Symposium is the largest international academic conference in the field of neuroscience, with over 6,000 experts from more than 120 countries participating.
