According to Anyang City, on the 26th, Cho Kyu-seong visited Anyang City Hall and met with Anyang City Mayor Choi Dae-ho, the owner of FC Anyang.
Jo, who started his career as a professional player by joining FC Anyang, has a special affection for FC Anyang to the extent that he watched the home game of FC Anyang even before enlisting in the military.
Cho Kyu-seong said, “I’ve been sincere in soccer since high school, and I’m always grateful to have grown like this since I started at FC Anyang, and it’s a team I have so much affection for.”
He also said, “The club took good care of me, and I love the city of Anyang itself.”
Mayor Choi Dae-ho encouraged him, saying, “Jo, who has grown into the best striker in the World Cup through constant training, has moved the hearts of many citizens.”
Mayor Choi also said, “It would be great if someday in the future, Jo would develop Korean soccer in a different way, such as discovering and nurturing the second Cho Kyu-seong, and continue his relationship with FC Anyang.” It is a dream and goal to organize and operate as a citizen-centered club.”
On this day, Park Gwi-jong, the Anyang City Sports Association, and other officials from the sports association also attended and had a meaningful event to welcome Cho and congratulate the Korean national soccer team for advancing to the round of 16.
