In light of this, the player attracted great attention from the media inside and outside Europe, amid speculation that the club would offer its player and the first French star for sale this summer to obtain the largest possible financial benefit, especially since Real Madrid had previously sought to sign the player in 2021 for a fee, confirmed by the media. It ranged between 180 and 200 million euros when the remaining player’s contract was one season as well.
Spanish newspapers, headed by “Marca”, indicated that the player’s favorite destination would be Real Madrid, despite his sudden decision last summer to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, following most expectations indicated that he was regarding to move to Real Madrid.
The “L’Equipe” report came only two days following Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, told a fan of the club that he had an intention to sign the French striker, but not this year.
This statement may double the possibilities of putting the player up for sale by Saint-Germain this summer to benefit financially, especially since Real Madrid is looking for a striker to compensate for Benzema’s departure from the ranks of the team.
