Kylian Mbappethe renowned striker of the Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and the star of the French team, has been the center of attention on social networks following making a peculiar joke related to a supposed offer from the Saudi club Al Hilal. According to various leaks, the Saudi team would have offered an incredible sum of 300 million euros to acquire the talented footballer.
In a message posted on his Twitter account, Mbappé made use of 13 emoticons laughing until he cried to react to a message from the basketball player of the NBA, Giannis Antetokounmpowho, in a humorous tone, expressed: “Al Hilal, you can stay with me. I look like Kylian Mbappé”.
Antetokounmpo, referring to the astronomical amount that the Saudi team would be willing to pay for the striker, made an ironic comparison. Mbappé, for his part, joined in on the fun and responded with another openly interpreted tweet.
This peculiar joke might be a way to alleviate the tension that has arisen in recent weeks between PSG and its star. Although the footballer has a contract valid until June 2024, he has made it clear that he has no intention of extending it for another season, as he was initially contemplated in his last renewal.
This decision has led PSG management to suspect that the striker has already verbally agreed to his transfer to another team, with Real Madrid being the club most mentioned in the rumours. If this agreement is finalized, PSG would lose the possibility of obtaining significant economic benefits from the sale of Mbappé, whom they acquired for 180 million euros in 2017 and have paid million-dollar salaries since then.
PSG, aware of the financial consequences that the departure of its star would entail without obtaining compensation, has pressured Mbappé so that, before July 31, he signs an extension of his contract and stays in Paris beyond June 2024. Otherwise, the Parisian club has warned that it will proceed to sell it this summer.
The situation has led to the player being excluded from the PSG tour for Asiaand currently, he is training in the sports city along with other players who are also destined to leave the club.
