Kyler Murray return date: Cardinals QB officially ruled OUT for Week 7 vs. Seahawks

The Arizona Cardinals have officially ruled out quarterback Kyler Murray for Sunday’s Week 7 road clash once morest the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. Josh Dobbs will look to bounce back from back-to-back poor performances following starting the 2023 NFL season as a surprisingly effecient option.

Murray, 26, returned to practice earlier this week following tearing his ACL in Week 14 last season. Still, quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork said Friday that they want to get their franchise QB right before starting him, according to Darren Urban of the Cardinals website.

“Right now, we’re just worried regarding him getting back in the flow of things,” Woolfork said.

There is no “exact time” for Murray’s return, per Cardinals general manager Ossenfort Mountainswho made an appearance on Arizona Sports.

Cardinals currently have a 1-5 record and won’t have a Bye until Week 14, so rushing Murray back for a dud season does not make sense.

With the way things are going in Arizona, it’s possible Murray never suits up for the Cardinals ever once more. The franchise is likely just going through the motions with him to beef up any possible trade deal.

Should the Cardinals turn things around in the next few weeks, however, the franchise might go all in on the season with Murray, but it’s unlikely.
