It was the soap opera of this end of the regular season/beginning of play-in; but the quarrel between Rudy Gobert and Kyle Anderson seems well and truly over according to Chris Hine. Make way for the sacred union on the Wolves side before a decisive match against the Pelicans or the Thunder on Friday. Finally some common sense in Minneapolis?
Sunday night somewhere in Minnesota:
– Kyle Anderson: “Hey, don’t you want to block shots?”
– Rudy Gobert: “And you don’t want to take rebounds?”
– Kyle Anderson: “Shut the fuck up, bitch”
*Rudy’s POTATO on Kyle*.
Contrary to what one might think, this is not a dialogue from Hamlet but the beginning of the problems for Rudy Gobert and the Wolves. We are not going to tell you the story but following the altercation Rudy was suspended by his team and did not play the first play-in game, a game that Minnesota lost with honors against the Lakers.
But in this gathering of clouds in Minneapolis, a clearing has come, finally. Indeed, Kyle Anderson spoke on this subject yesterday, still with Chris Hine (Wolves insider):

“Of course there was a real altercation. It happens all the time in sports. I feel like people act like they’ve never seen one before. We are adults and we are able to turn the page. We both wanted to win. We talked about it directly after the game and seeing how things unfold is quite encouraging for what’s to come, honestly. Ultimately, we are teammates. I don’t want it to be Kyle versus Rudy. I have always supported my partners and we will move forward.” –Kyle Anderson
Chris Hine was also able to ask Wolves president Tim Connelly about the Frenchman’s suspension for last night’s all-important game against the Lakers:
“We have standards to uphold in our franchise. We saw what happened and it was very embarrassing. We don’t want to question who we are as an organization or who Rudy is as a professional. Both of our players quickly made amends, but we try to be an elite organization and live up to our standards without the institution being questioned.”
Rudy was great, he immediately understood the penalty. Rudy and Kyle aren’t proud of what happened on the bench. In fact, they are quite close and they were embarrassed. Rudy behaved very well after this unfortunate event. It is obvious that he would have liked to be able to reverse his acts, but it was not possible.
One thing is clear, all the stakeholders want to put this affair far behind them by starting on a good footing. Make way for the sportsman now and the sacred union before a cleaver game Friday night at home against the Thunder or the Pelicans.
