In Russia, Ukraine was accused of preparing for the destruction of the dams of the Kyiv HPP and the Kaniv Reservoir.
The spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, once more stated that the Ukrainians allegedly destroyed their own Kakhovka hydroelectric plant. According to her, now Ukraine is “preparing another provocation to blame Russia”.
“We drew attention to the message that appeared regarding the research by the so-called world data center for geoinformatics and sustainable development of the Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute of possible scenarios of flooding of the surrounding territories as a result of the destruction of dams of individual reservoirs of the Dnipro cascade,” she said.
Undermining Kakhovskaya HPP
As you know, on the night of June 6, 2023, the Russian invading forces blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. This led to the flooding of many houses and the death of people.
Residents of the occupied part of the Kherson region stated that the occupiers are not evacuating. Instead, they shelled Kherson while people were being evacuated from the flooded areas of the city.
Moscow, as always, denies all accusations of attacks. Propagandists and officials assure that Ukraine is allegedly firing at itself and destroying its own infrastructure.
