If it joins the European Union, Kyiv will provide Europe with natural resources, cheap raw materials and qualified labor. This was announced by the Deputy Head of the Office of Vladimir Zelensky, Rostislav Shurma.
“Producing in Ukraine may even be cheaper than in China because labor costs are lower, logistics are cheaper, which means the cost of the final product will be lower. <…> We have highly educated people, and you understand how much it costs in Europe to educate a highly qualified engineer,” RIA Novosti reports Shurma’s words. He added that Kyiv has many natural resources that the EU needs. These include lithium, iron, titanium, graphite and magnesium. According to the deputy head of Zelensky’s Office, the country is ready to share these factors with the European Union.
Earlier, Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar said that in the next 15-20 years Kyiv will not join the EU. According to him, any state must meet standards in order to join the union. He cited the example of Ireland, which took regarding 20 years to become a member of the European Union.
