12:38 p.m .: Eleven Eastern European countries condemn Russian bombings
Eleven presidents of Eastern European countries members of NATO on Tuesday condemned the recent Russian bombings of Ukrainian cities, calling them “war crimes”. In a statement issued by the Polish presidency, they also denounce as “unacceptable” any threat from Russia to use nuclear weapons.
“On behalf of our states, we demand that Russia immediately stop attacking civilian targets. We will not cease our efforts to bring to justice those responsible for today’s crimes”, declare the heads of state of these eleven countries – members of the group of “nine from Bucharest” (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia) focused on military cooperation, joined by Montenegro and North Macedonia.
