“Law and Justice will say: in absolute numbers, we received the largest number of votes, we took first place in terms of support – it’s all true,” said Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, senator of the Civic Coalition, who was Grzegorz Sroczyński’s guest in the Afternoon conversation on RMF FM. As he added, “I only wish them (PiS politicians – editor’s note) such continuous success, because if they fall from 8 voivodeships, we will see whether it is 5 or less, it is not an increase.”

Kwiatkowski: I wish PiS only such successes
The journalist referred to an entry on the platform Kwiatkowski said: “You can have up-to-date data, because today is a working day, I was receiving business, I had several dozen people in the office.” If this ends, the decline of PiS, in the sense of ruling in the assemblies, will be smaller than we initially assumed (…). I am glad that in the voivodeship closest to me, the Łódź Voivodeship, the coalition regains power in the regional council on October 15, commented the politician.
Have you seen any shadows of your campaign? – the journalist asked.
Today, one can ask oneself whether it would be better for the Civic Coalition to create an agreement – whether it would be an agreement covering all three circles or an agreement only with the Left – said the KO senator.
In his opinion, “it would probably be easier to reach an agreement between all three circles, but it did not work out.” I would say that the partners didn’t want it, he added.
Krzysztof Kwiatkowski said that the good results of his political environment were “in those cities where the Civic Coalition had cooperation with the Left.” He gave the example of Łódź, where Hanna Zdanowska won in the first round of the city’s mayoral elections with the support of approximately 60 percent.
The host of the followingnoon conversation on RMF FM asked his guest why he stopped being an independent senator in February and joined the Civic Coalition club.
For a very simple reason. I support this government because I believe it is a huge opportunity following the PiS government, said Krzysztof Kwiatkowski.
Three of my friends still form the group of independent senators. My decision – and at this point I would like to thank them very much for their joint work in the previous and this term – did not cause any disruptions, the group continues to function – he noted. I can support this government and work for it better and more effectively from the position of a member of the parliamentary club, because I am still a non-partisan person, he emphasized.
What did you get in return? – asked Grzegorz Sroczyński.
I did not get anything. I did not receive or expect any such agreements related to any political and personal compensation for this decision – said the RMF FM guest.
The host of the followingnoon conversation on RMF FM pointed out that Łódź took first place in Poland, second in Europe and fifteenth in the world in the TomTom Traffic Index, a ranking of the most congested cities. Do you have an idea for traffic jams in Łódź? – he asked his guest.
Yes, better coordination of investments and careful selection of companies that have met investment deadlines in the past – said Krzysztof Kwiatkowski.
He emphasized that “public procurement law allows for the use of other weights than just price.” So far, Łódź, which has been robbed of huge amounts of money due to changes related to the Polish Order, i.e. PLN 300 million a year, has really paid special attention to the price in all investments, he noted.
Today we have to move on. We need to check whether the winning company is a company that meets the deadlines for its investments, he explained.
This is the last term of office of the mayor and I hope that she will want to be remembered by the residents as best as possible and that it will be a good term, that many projects will be implemented and the city will be managed really well, because I – as a resident of Łódź – care regarding that – added the senator of the Civic Coalition.
The senator of the Civic Coalition drew attention to one of the aspects of the activities of the Łódź Voivodeship Assembly in the previous term. As he noted, “this is just a scandal.”
What was the government doing? The government said it would compensate local governments for tax losses. What it looked like in practice was announced by the Supreme Audit Office. Per capita – if the commune head, mayor or president was from PiS – over 5,000. PLN of such financial resources, if independent – over PLN 3,000. PLN – and if an opposition politician, a little over PLN 2,000. PLN – said Krzysztof Kwiatkowski. After all, this is a big deal – he added.
He emphasized that “there was a local government investment program, one of its editions.” Łódź did not receive a single zloty for any program, the Dąbrowice commune – 1,914 inhabitants – for several projects, several million zlotys – he mentioned.
He said that “those times will be gone forever.”
