More than 24 thousand households in the municipality of Lucapa, in Lunda-Norte, will be able to benefit from the “Kwenda” Social Monetary Transfer Program, revealed yesterday the director of the Institute of Local Development-FAS in this province, João Nascimento

The public manager highlighted that the registration process will last 45 days and will be carried out by 40 Community and Health Development Agents (ADECOS). According to the person responsible, after registration, the data validation process will follow and then monetary transfers, through which each family will benefit from 66 thousand kwanzas, equivalent to six months, at a rate of 11 thousand Kz/month.

On the other hand, according to Angop, he reported that to date, 64 thousand households have been registered in the municipalities of Cuango, Caungula, Cambulo and Lóvua, 57 thousand of which have already benefited from social monetary transfers. The FAS made more than three billion kwanzas available to pay the 57 thousand vulnerable families in the four municipalities. He made it known that families registered in the municipalities of Lubalo and Cuilo are only waiting for payments.

A presidential initiative, the “Kwenda” Social Protection Strengthening Program will serve, in phases, one million and 608 thousand needy families in the country’s 164 municipalities, until 2023, with a global budget of 420 million dollars for this purpose. Americans.

In addition to the monetary social transfer component, which consists of the payment of 11 thousand Kz/month for one year, Kwenda provides for productive inclusion, which has to do with the selection, mapping and financing of economic, agricultural and productive initiatives. The program also foresees the municipalization of social action, linked to facilitating access to public services and the single social register, relating to the identification of vulnerable families.
