KV-Baugewerbe: This was agreed upon in the first pay round

The GBH union was able to negotiate an increase of 9.5 percent on the KV wages for the approximately 100,000 employees. In addition, an agreement was reached with the employers on a collectively agreed minimum wage of 2,532 euros from May 1st. “This is the highest starting wage in any industry,” the union wrote on Tuesday.

In addition to the plus on the KV wages, there will be 5 percent more daily allowances in the future. Furthermore, the tunnel allowance for newly tendered projects will be increased from 25 to 30 percent. Working groups are set up on the subject of employee protection in the heat and on combating wage and social dumping by bogus sole proprietorships (EPU).

GBH negotiation manager Josef Muchitsch spoke in the broadcast of “fair wage negotiations at eye level” under difficult conditions and was proud “that we were able to raise the lowest incomes particularly strongly.” Association chairman Peter Krammer saw the conclusion as a “tolerable compromise” in view of the high level of inflation. “It was crucial for the social partners to support the workforce and still keep an eye on construction investments,” says Krammer.
