Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior Implements New Law: Expats Must Pay Telephone Bills Before Leaving the Country

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has announced that expatriates should leave the country only following paying their telephone bills.

The implementation of the law started yesterday. The bill can be paid through the website of the Ministry of Communication or the Sahel app, the government’s one-stop shop.

Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs had implemented a law requiring expatriates to pay their traffic fines, electricity and water dues before traveling out of the country.

Meanwhile, the authorities said that leaving the country for any reason will not give relief in arrears. This is part of the process of collecting dues including fines from expatriates. Facilities for payment of fines have been established at airports and land and sea centres.
