“Kuwait Oil”: Oil facilities were not affected by the earthquake

Kuwait (WAM)

The Kuwait Oil Company confirmed that its facilities for operating oil and gas production facilities were not affected by the earthquake that occurred at dawn yesterday. The company indicated that oil and gas production is currently proceeding normally.
KUNA quoted the company as saying that all oil facilities are equipped with sensors that operate automatically when exposed to any earthquake as a precautionary measure and according to the company’s approved safety regulations, and this led to its suspension for a short period as a precaution, and all of them returned to work normally. The Kuwait National Seismological Network at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research recorded an earthquake measuring five on the Richter scale, southwest of Ahmadi, at dawn yesterday.
