Kuwait Ministry of Health Launches ‘Take Back Expired & Unused Medicines’ Campaign for World Patient Safety Day

Kuwait City: The Kuwait Ministry of Health has announced that a campaign to “take back expired and unused medicines” will begin next Sunday to coincide with World Patient Safety Day.

WHO said it will participate in the campaign with the Ministry of Health to raise awareness regarding safe disposal of unused or expired medicines, ensure patient safety and prevent accidents.

The campaign will begin next Sunday morning from the Abdullah Al-Abdulhadi Center in Yarmouk, emphasizing the importance of media participation in the campaign to reach the public and disseminate basic information regarding the proper utilization of medicines and delivery points.

Health sources confirmed that medical and nursing teams, students of medical colleges, doctors in the field of drug and food control will participate in the campaign.
