On the other hand, His Highness the Emir of the country and the official delegation accompanying His Highness will leave the homeland today, Tuesday, heading to the sister country of the United Arab Emirates on a state visit, and on His Highness’s fifth trip outside the country since His Highness took over the emirate following his visits to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar.
In conjunction with this visit, Kuwait recalls prominent milestones witnessed in Kuwaiti-Emirati relations in the past decades that contributed to their consolidation in all fields, and is directed by the keenness to develop them towards broader horizons, whether at the bilateral level or within the Gulf Cooperation Council system, in a way that contributes to achieving the interests of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
The foundations of these relations were laid over decades by the keenness of the wise leaders of the two brotherly countries to strengthen and develop them in all fields, given the ties of religion, language, history and brotherhood that unite them, making them an example of the strong, inherent ties between any two brotherly countries.
Bilateral relations have been strengthened over these decades through mutual visits by the leaders of the two brotherly countries and joint coordination on regional and international issues, as well as the desire of the two countries to continuously develop these relations towards a wider range of integration and accelerate their sustainable development plans.

Mutual coordination
The political relations between the two countries are witnessing a remarkable development, reflected in the mutual coordination between the two sides in regional and international forums regarding issues of common interest in a way that serves the interests of both sides, especially since the meeting that took place in 1973 between the late Emir of the country, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, and the late President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan. Al Nahyan.
Kuwait remembers with all loyalty and appreciation the official and popular position of the UAE during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in August 1990, as the UAE hosted tens of thousands of Kuwaiti families on its land and the UAE armed forces participated in the war to liberate Kuwait.
Before that, in 1952, the late Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, visited Sharjah and directed that a Kuwaiti educational mission be sent to the Emirates, where it arrived in 1955 and began establishing many schools, equipping them and supporting them with books and school tools for students, while the Kuwaiti medical mission launched its work in the Emirates in 1962 and established many centers. And hospitals.
Kuwait contributed financially and administratively to providing and supervising these services, and also established a television transmission station in the Emirate of Dubai, which began operation in 1969 and was called Kuwait TV from Dubai.
Kuwait is one of the first countries to recognize the establishment of the United Arab Emirates since the first day the establishment of the UAE Federation was announced on December 2, 1971.
The UAE opened the first embassy in Kuwait in 1972, and Ambassador Rashid Al-Mukhawi was the first accredited ambassador of the State to Kuwait, while Sheikh Badr Muhammad Al-Ahmad was the first accredited ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the UAE.

Bilateral cooperation
The signing of the agreement to establish a joint committee for bilateral cooperation between the two countries on April 24, 2006 in Kuwait, and the first meeting of the committee held in Abu Dhabi on March 1, 2008, are considered among the most important milestones in the close political relations existing between the two countries.
The meeting of the first session of the joint consular committee between the two countries was held in the Emirates on November 5, 2015, while the second meeting was held in Kuwait on February 12, 2017, and the third meeting was held in the Emirates on November 6, 2019. Kuwait hosted the fourth meeting on November 5, 2020 via technology. Visual communication.
The economic and commercial agreements and memorandums of understanding between the two countries contributed to increasing the volume of investments and trade exchange between them to increasing levels annually, as the first ten years of the establishment of the joint committee between the two countries witnessed a major jump in non-oil trade exchange, as well as a significant increase in the number of Kuwaiti companies established in the Emirates or Emirati countries. The UAE is considered first in the Arab world and second in the world following China as the largest exporter of goods to Kuwait over the past decade, while the level of trade exchange between them has recently increased as a result of the increase in UAE exports to Kuwait by 72 percent from two billion US dollars in 2020 to 44.3 billion dollars in 2021, while the value of UAE imports from Kuwait during the same period ranged from $1.14 billion to $1.32 billion.
On the security and military level, the two countries are witnessing mutual visits and joint training by the security and military authorities, as well as exchanging experiences and benefiting from the distinguished experiences and programs adopted in the two countries that contribute to preparing and graduating capable and qualified generations to defend the two countries and protect their lands.
Relations between the two countries are also witnessing continuous development at the cultural, artistic, sports and health levels through exchange of visits and participation in events held in the two countries such as exhibitions, conferences, tournaments, seminars and competitions.
The two countries have agreements in the field of education to enhance cooperation, exchange expertise, and benefit from distinguished experiences, while UAE universities attract a large number of Kuwaiti students studying in various specializations.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad sent a cable of condolence to Mary May Simon, Governor-General of Canada, in which His Highness expressed his sincere condolences and sincere sympathy on the death of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.
His Highness recalled with all appreciation the virtues of the deceased, his pivotal role and his honorable positions towards the State of Kuwait, which he contributed to its liberation in 1991 during his tenure as Prime Minister of Canada, wishing His Highness his family and loved ones patience.
