Kuwait and Saudi Arabia intend to discuss the Dora gas field file with Iran

The Saudi Energy Minister confirms his country’s move towards developing the Al-Durra gas field, noting that Kuwait and Saudi Arabia want to discuss matters related to this field with Iran.

Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman confirmed that his country is moving towards developing the Dorra gas field, adding that “Kuwait and Saudi Arabia want to discuss this field with Iran because the resources there are a common interest for both countries.”

At an energy conference in Bahrain, bin Salman said: “We plan to produce 13.2-13.4 million barrels per day, according to what we will do in the divided zone by the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027.”

He pointed out that “the depletion of production capacities at all levels in the energy sector is a global issue that the world should care regarding,” pointing out that there is no refining capacity equivalent to the current demand.

Kuwait signed a document with Saudi Arabia to develop the Dorra field, which is expected to produce one billion standard cubic feet of gas per day and 84,000 barrels per day of condensate, at a time when Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed that “This document is illegalAny matter related to this field must be done in coordination with the three countries.
