The man suspected of being the author of the attack which killed three people on Friday in Paris, was indicted by an investigating judge for murder and attempted murder because of race, ethnicity, nation or religion, report the media citing a judicial source.
The alleged perpetrator of the shooting, a 69-year-old retiree of French nationality, was also indicted for unauthorized acquisition and possession of a weapon, the press added, adding that he was placed in pre-trial detention.
The defendant was arrested on Friday just following opening fire on several people killing three and injuring three others, present in front of a foreign cultural center in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. His police custody had been lifted for a time for placement in a psychiatric infirmary.
He had already been arrested a year ago for attacking a migrant camp in the 12th arrondissement of the capital with a saber.
The suspect is known to the police and justice services for another antecedent, in Seine-Saint-Denis. He had just been released recently.
