The next generation of AirPods Max and more affordable AirPods are in the works, but they wouldn’t arrive until late 2024, says analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a volley of tweets he asserts that the next generation of helmet will not enter volume production until the second half of 2024 or even the first of 2025. Same schedule for AirPods whose entry ticket would bring them to $99 ($129/€159 today or €119 in promo).
Kuo does not go further on other characteristics. Regarding these AirPods intended to better compete with cheap competitors, they had been evoked a few days ago by analyst Jeff Pu. He was also counting on a launch window in 2024.
If no small intermediate improvement is made to the AirPods Max by this replacement – H2 chip, new colors – it would make a first cycle of four years for this product unveiled in December 2020.
