Kulturforum Breitenwang: Review and preview of a lively cultural life in Breitenwang

Every year, the Kulturforum Breitenwang invites you to the presentation of the new program and always gives a short review of the past program year beforehand.
It was good to hear; the numbers are approaching the pre-corona level. Not intoxicating yet, but clearly increasing. In the past year, however, the program was impressive.
The Kulturforum, the association, has become an integral part of the local culture scene, but has once more packed a well-rounded program this year.
The film circle is an essential part of the work in Breitenwang. In retrospect, there was talk of the 34th and 35th cycle of this kind, and a total of 14 films and two documentaries were shown. The current 36th Filmcircle started in January with the title “Märzengrund” and “My hours with Leo” was shown in February. Three excellent films will follow in March: “Hve” will be shown on the 3rd, “Dancing Pina” on the 21st and the following day on the 22nd “Elfride Jelinek” can be seen. “Schächten” can be seen at the beginning of April and “Lost Illusions” will follow in May. The last film will be shown in June “Eismayer”.
Of course, a flyer has also been published for this purpose, from which all details regarding the films shown can be found.
However, films are only part of the diverse programme.
Cabaret, music, theater and exhibitions are part of good form at the Kulturforum.
The season starts with a concert.
On February 25th, “Vintage Galerie”, a brand new, well-known, tried and tested band, consisting of parts from the former formation WAKO, will be on stage. Walter Hold, Ernst Beirer, Bernd Hornof, Wolfgang Sojer and Manni Kappeller interpret hits from the Rolling Stones, Uriah Heep, T-Rex, Eric Clapton, Deep Purple, Steppenwolf, Stevie Wonder and many others.
Let’s stay with music, in May we can expect a new concert concept in Breitenwang.

All spring.
Everything beginning.
all song

This is the title of the Kulturforum Breitenwang
from May 16th to 20th an event with the declared aim of “enjoying the song for everyone”.
For the first time, artists from near and far will be gathering around the song at the VZ Breitenwang, with the various facets of the song being deepened one evening on the stage of the VZ Breitenwang. At the end on 20.05. then brought everything together on stage in one evening. A new concept that is certainly worth hearing.
Already legendary, the “Weekend for Jazz.” This is taking place for the 15th time this year and offers a lot of fun for jazz fans in just one weekend.
“Lechgroove” will be playing on November 10th and the “Tribute Band Tirol” will be making people sit up and take notice on Saturday, November 11th. In 2023, one of Pink Floyd’s most iconic albums will be celebrating its 50th birthday. The Tribute Band has set itself the goal of celebrating this event – eleven outstanding musicians who bring a fantastic milestone in music history to life and draw their audience to the dark side of the moon to lead.

There’s professional theater in April, “The Perfect Secret”, a production of the Westbahntheater from Innsbruck, is making a guest appearance in Breitenwang on April 15th. Three women, four men meet and put their seven phones on the table. Everything that comes in there is shared unconditionally with everyone and what starts as harmless fun quickly degenerates into an emotional mess.

Art is never neglected in Breitenwang. Three exhibitions are planned this year. In March the work of Monica Ostermeier can be seen in the Tauernsaal, in August Wolfgang Rieder will show what he has done in ten years “AtellieR13-noTburga” and Marc Aschenbrenner will bring some of his works back to Reutte and Breitenwang for the “Night of the Museums”. .

An excursion into literature remains. The “Tiroler Totenglocken”, a crime novel by Anna Tröber, who will come to the Breitenwang library for a reading on April 21st.
This crime novel is regarding more than the search for a perpetrator. The feeling that everyone in the described alpine village really has their own dark secrets is conveyed, as is the fact that nobody wants to talk regarding it.

Once once more, the Kulturforum has put together a diverse and entertaining program that has something to offer for practically everyone. Whether theatre, exciting music concepts or exhibitions – culture lives in Breitenwang.
