A large-scale firefighting operation took place in the early hours of Saturday in the municipality of Kuchl. The roof of a house caught fire.
At exactly 1:48 a.m., the Markt and Jadorf fire engines of the Kuchl Volunteer Fire Department were alerted to a house fire. The FF Kuchl reported that because of “the very high number of emergency calls, the FF Golling was immediately requested as reinforcement.”
And rightly so: When the emergency services arrived at the scene, they found an extensive fire on the roof of a residential building. The fire had already spread from the balcony to the apartment on the upper floor. The residents of the house were immediately brought to safety.
At the same time, fire-fighting attacks were carried out from outside and inside with several respiratory protection teams. The efforts of the well-equipped and well-trained volunteers were soon successful: the fire was under control after around 45 minutes.
Follow-up work was carried out in the roof area until 4.30 a.m. to extinguish any embers.
The Kuchl and Golling fire departments, the Red Cross and the police were deployed with a total of more than 100 personnel.
There was no information available in the morning hours about the extent of the property damage or the cause of the fire.
