CHIEF Presidential Staff Moeldoko admitted that the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) had not discussed the transition team from President Joko Widodo’s government to President-elect Prabowo Subianto.
However, he emphasized that KSP was ready to coordinate if needed.
“So far there has been no communication with our office. So in principle, we will give the best, if anyone needs information regarding the government, we will be ready to coordinate,” said Moeldoko at the Bina Graha Building, Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (1/ 4).
Moeldoko expressed optimism that the government transition might run smoothly. He also ensured that while the leadership was being changed, public services should not be disrupted.
“Yes, be optimistic. We have to be optimistic that we will prepare everything to the best. Until now we have always calculated the effectiveness of the service, it cannot be reduced in the slightest. Whatever the situation, public service must be maintained,” said Moeldoko.
On a separate occasion, KSP Expert Ali Mochtar Ngabalin said that President Joko Widodo or Jokowi would lead the leadership transition. Apart from that, he believes that the change of president from Jokowi to Prabowo Subianto can run smoothly.

“Yes, God willing, it will be led directly by President Joko Widodo and I don’t think that will be long,” said Ali.
He acknowledged that it was not only the government, such as the cabinet, that needed to be prepared for the transition period. But also the transfer of the capital from Jakarta to the capital of the archipelago in East Kalimantan Province.
“In this transition period with IKN there will definitely be one, but we at KSP don’t know when. But there will definitely be one,” explained Ali.
