Country star Kris Kristofferson is dead.
He lived to be 88 years old.
“Thank you for loving him all these years,” the family wrote in the statement.
Kris Kristofferson died peacefully at his home in Maui, Hawaii on Saturday.
“We are all so grateful for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these years, and when you see a rainbow, know that he is smiling down on us,” his family said in the statement that People took part in.

Last concert of 2020
The singer-songwriter and Kristofferson frequently topped the US country charts. Some of his most famous songs are “Me and Bobby McGee”, “For the Good Times”, “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down”.
He did his last concert in February 2020, before retiring the following year.
As an actor, he appeared in the Blade films, among other things, and won a Golden Globe for his performance in “A Star is Born” from 1976, where he played opposite Barbra Streisand.
